The Maasai people of Africa are warriors who live in pastoralist communities. They use the greeting “Kasserian Ingera,” which translates in Swahili to, “And how are the children?” The appropriate response is “Sapati Ingera,” which translates to, “ALL of the children are well.” This greeting signifies that the well-being of the community is measured by the well-being of the youth. This same high value placed on the future generation is rooted in Jesus’ discourse with the disciples in Matthew 19, when He warns them not to despise the youth, but to allow them to come, learn, and engage, because the Kingdom of God belongs to them.

Faith and Resilience is collaborating with premier leaders in faith, education, and community to curate its inaugural weekend of youth engagement and empowerment, entitled “How Are the Youth? 2026 Weekend of Engagement” Our mission is to acknowledge and nurture the gifts, talents, and anointing of youth ages 5–18 and empower them to serve and lead in their faith communities.

We are excited to invite your youth and their leaders to Embassy Suites Piscataway/Somerset, on June 19th & 20th. It will be a fun-filled weekend of fellowship with youth from around the tri-state area, featuring worship, prayer, instructional engagement sessions, poolside leisure, and more.
